Intercessory Missionary Internship (IMI)

September 26th – December 18th , 2010

The Intercessory Missionary Internship is a three-month Internship targeting those who seek to be equipped for leadership at their local house of prayer or who intend to join staff at the Tabernacle of the Nations in Amsterdam. Or for those that want to give themselves to a season of intense prayer and taste what it is like to live as an intercessory missionary.

Our goal is to equip the intercessor for long-term success in a lifestyle of prayer and fasting. The program includes training in the IHOP-KC’s worship and prayer model (known as the Harp and Bowl model), the core values of intimacy, eschatology, intercession and the Sermon on the Mount.

The 2010 IMI will have a night watch component as well as a day watch component: while the teachings are followed together, some will spend the 30 hours a week in the prayer room during the day and some in the night.

The house of prayer here in Amsterdam (called Tabernacle of the Nations) is the heart of YWAM Amsterdam, all ministries flow out of this reality. It is situated in the heart of the city of Amsterdam, facing the beautiful “Old Church” separated only by one of the 100 canals. It is in fact in the red-light district.

Vision of IMI:

To do the work of world mission by calling, training and sending out intercessory missionaries who operate in the forerunner spirit in being energized by intimacy with Jesus as Bridegroom King and Judge and emboldened with urgency by revelation of the End-Times.

DayWatch

Luke 18 Jesus commands us to pray night and day for the speedy release of justice. So we pray during the day hours but we also want to raise up intercessors that are willing to change their lifestyle so take up this wonderful challenge: the NightWatch.

Why the NightWatch?

To Reclaim the Night For the Lord

The night is particularly filled with all sorts of unfruitful deeds of darkness; our cities are filled with murder, sorcery, theft and immorality (Revelation 9:21). We want the night to belong to the Lord. Fragrance is released as we give Him our love and our devotion in the night. This changes the spiritual atmosphere over our cities.

Devotion in the night can be costly because of the dynamics of the NightWatch lifestyle. It’s the Lord’s desire to raise up a people who will love Him in the night. He longs for a company of people who will adore Him and tarry with Him through the watches of the night.

To a generation being romanced by the counterfeit passions of the night (especially here in the red-light district), we stand as one of many ministries providing an environment where people can come and experience the true passions of God’s heart. Come and stand in the place of prayer through the watches of the night. The night belongs to the Lord!
