King’s Kids
King’s Kids is a ministry that leads children, youth and families worldwide into a proven knowledge of God, bring Him joy and together make Him known to all peoples.
Since September 2008 King’s Kids started in Amsterdam. Our desire is to develop a ministry that will focus on the specific needs of youth, families and children in the urban region of the Netherlands.
Our desire is to mobilise Christian youth, families and their children in prayer and evangelism and to disciple them in a lifestyle that is reflecting Jesus’ character in every part of their lives.
We want to do this by working together with local churches and organisations who share their values with us, by supporting them in reaching out, discipling and mobilising the children, youth and families in Amsterdam and beyond.
Our team right now exists of 3 full-time staff. Our focus is mainly to network with churches and to research where the needs are.
We have started with D-teams (a year round discipleship program for teenagers and their families) to put into practice the interdenominational vision with youth. In this program we challenge the youth for radical faith in Jesus, which affects every aspect of their lives. The program is very varied from practical work, creative worship and intercession, Bible studies, one on one mentoring and reaching out in the community.
In the summer holidays we mobilise young people and families on short-term missions through our national and international summer outreaches (from 5 days to 4 weeks).
From September 2010 we start a prayer and worship group ‘CHANGE’ in the Tabernacle of the Nations (YWAM Amsterdam House of Prayer) where we hope to see the young generation released in their forerunner calling to pray the prayers from their Father’s heart and see their own lives and world around them changed.
We are continuously looking into new ways of building bridges between nations, generations and denominations in the city and beyond as the Lord leads. One of our current weekly projects is focusing on seeing the one of the poorest and most multicultural neighbourhoods of Amsterdam transformed and connect to the Creator.
We expect to start more activities where people from different denominations will be part of.
