Intercultural Resource Centre

ICRC exists to train and provide resources for inter-cultural workers, particularly those working amongst unreached peoples, enabling them to be effective in their intercultural relationships, evangelism, discipleship, church planting, multicultural worship, and in the reconciliation of nations in Christ.
We live in a diverse world! The urban centers of our world have always been places of cultural diversity and exchange, but the rapid urbanization and globalization of the past century has produced a “coming together” of the nations like never before in history. The city of Amsterdam, one of the most diverse cities on the planet, is a great example of this. Hundreds of different nationalities and cultures call this city home.
And yet this “coming together” presents unique challenges. Historically, cultural diversity has often led to conflict and even bloodshed. Immigration, multi-culturalism, and religious diversity are hotly debated topics these days, and will continue to be so as the nations and cultures of the world increasingly share the same streets.
The body of Christ is called to be ministers of reconciliation; we are called to model the unity in diversity that is possible as the nations of the earth come together in Christ. As we understand God’s heart for the nations, as expressed in Revelation 7:9-10, we can understand the basis for intercultural relationships and demonstrate the Father’s heart for the unreached.
Vision
ICRC exists to train and provide resources for inter-cultural workers, particularly those working amongst unreached peoples, enabling them to be effective in their intercultural relationships, evangelism, discipleship, church planting, multicultural worship, and in the reconciliation of nations in Christ.
Training
We offer a mix of both formal and informal training and mentoring. Our formal training includes a two-year, field- based degree program with the University of the Nations. The three-month lecture phase, called Foundations in Intercultural Studies (FIS), is open to anyone who has completed a Discipleship Training School. This is followed by a field assignment, language acquisition, and other training modules, with the goal of equipping the individual to be effective in their intercultural ministry. Please contact us here for more details about FIS, the degree program, and other training we offer.
Personnel
Come join our team! Over the years Amsterdam has been a launching place for people to be sent all over the world. We are a diverse group of individuals strategically working among the nations of the world, both in Amsterdam and further afield. Currently, we have personnel working locally and globally in leadership development, church planting, training and mentoring, journalism, media, refugee ministry, and mobilization.
